All is silent now, quiet and full of peace and serenity. Life dwells so violently far away in the world of Distant Promises. The sunlight glares in its tempered flaring surface, both violent and full of rage. Nothingness reigns supreme here, and nothing can be heard. There are no horns, no bellowing calls, and most importantly, there is no violence here. In all of the time and space that we have created, there is nothing here to disturb us in our careful observations over the very things that we have created.
Long before there was anything, there was us. In this multitude of masses and nothingness, we created all that you see before you now. The stars, the world, everything that is, was, and will ever be. We are the keepers of promises, the creators of the treasures of the universe, and the observers of curiosity. We are called the Creators.
But things were not always so serene and vigilant. Before, there were times of war, of all things cruel and horrid. We created one that was the closest thing to one of us. We called her Genesis. She served as an immortal that ruled over Distant Promises, and we left her to the world that we had created. What had once been so kind and beautiful turned to darkness as the years went by. She chose a stallion to rule as King: Justinian. He ruled for many years, and it was with his death that the chaos of Distant Promises turned to the lands into Disfunktional.
But then, she was banished by her own son, Davidus, and his lover, Emir. For years, the two ruled over the lands, but as always peace would not last forever. And so, after an affair, the two split their ways, only coming together again when a prophecy of Genesis's return came about. Read by a wise mare when she was on her deathbed, it stated that the chosen ones would release her. They would appear in the forms of one of two children born to a dead mother, twin sons born to the serpent, one who was the child of an immortal, and one that would appear on the wind. And they came, just as we promised.
Valenora, the granddaughter of Davidus and Emir, bore twins: Vladimir and Victoire. However, during the process of birth she died. And thus, the twins were born to a dead mother. Vladimir left the world of Disfunktional as soon as he could. Davidus's son, The Shadow, who was the leader of a realm named Serpentina, and his lover, Alhena, had twin sons in Ahmar and Aswad. And thus, the twin sons were born to the serpent. Davidus had a child with a mare named Arilyn, who was named Athena. And thus, the child of an immortal was born. And one day, on a particularly windy day, there came a youngster named Miakoda. And thus, the final chosen one came. Together, they released Genesis from the Lone Oak that she had been banished to by Davidus and Emir. They were granted special powers to use, and the powers continued to live on through them even after she was successfully released.
And when it came time that Genesis returned to her days of darkness, the chosen ones took her on. It started with a dream that she had of the young Vladimir bringing about her destruction. She kept a close lookout for him. Little did she know that he had returned with the help of a mare blessed with the power of transformation named Marion. They were lovers, and they had returned to see the world that he had left behind. Fearing for his life, he transformed himself into a black stallion. However, just as Marion was giving birth to their daughter, Genesis discovered their disguises. She killed Marion and their daughter, Mirami. And then, Vladimir's power was revealed. He was able to take on the powers of Genesis, taking them away from her so that she could be weakened enough to be contained. That was when we intervened, taking not only Genesis but a few of the other citizens as well. But we left Genesis's last child, a daughter named Amariah.
But they are all gone now, moved on and vanished. The lands are desolate. But we call to the chosen ones' offspring. We call to them, beckon them to return and claim what is rightfully theirs. Of the six, Ahmar and Victoire, Aswad and Miakoda and Vladimir had been known to have children. But the bloodlines have been mixed. Not all of the children of the chosen ones display the powers, and some of the powers have even mutated. We are waiting for the chosen ones to appear, the two immortals that linger in the world unknowing of their heritage or their importance.
And what of you? Will you heed the call or simply let fate wander by?
