Jasper's paws bounced as he made his way up to Baisen Ridge. His twin harks were pricked, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. His nose twitched, picking up the scents that wafted to them. Blades and pelvis rolled easily with each step, paws hardly making a noise on the ground. He carefully made his way up the path. His blue merle fur swayed gently in the spring breeze. His blue eyes were locked a head of him, looking around . He was coming up here because he wanted some time to think.
The only female he'd met was Morphine. He hadn't met many others. He let out a sigh and kept walking.
Once he reached the top of the ridge, he planted his rump down and let his forelegs come around to the front of his chest, keeping his upper body erect. Both ears were pricked forward, listening to the waves gently crashing against the jagged rocks below. He could feel the mist spraying up onto his coat. Jasper inhaled deeply, enjoying the brine scent from the ocean below. Jasper felt a tingle run up his spine, but it was a good kind of shiver. The sky was cloudy , a storm cloud threatening in the horizon. It was probably time for a storm anyway. He sighed once again and lowered his belly to the ground, forelegs stretching out before him. He lowered his head, letting his muzzle rest between his forepaws. He kept his gaze locked out onto the horizon of the ocean. Jasper watched the waves gently rolling, the froth tumbling from one wave to the next. The sun was trying to peer out from behind some clouds, but it wasn't having much luck. He waited to see who would meet him.
Jasper was hoping to eventually find a mate at some point, but he wasn't going to rush into things. He liked to take his time with things like that. He kept his ears alert , waiting to see.

The breeze set a course upon the frigid pale gold of her coat now glistening dully with the quickly shedding winter coat making way for her shorter summer down. spring would come and soon hot summer and was prepared for what would come with it as she had before, yet now this season she knew warmth would find her in the presence of others, she would not seek shelter from it alone this time. The ground glistened now with a gaining green that soon would grip the landscape in warning to the oncoming life-filled year, this above all else she loved. She thought of all the seasons then, the gentle crush of waves far off a signal to her to remain in the reality of things while she remembered. All those seasons coming and going, of all by far her favorite was fall but perhaps spring was close second and winter her third, but summer? The consistent heat and dry weather was enough to make one want to be a fish! Still, summer had its good qualities and would never be a hated time in her mind.
As she continued on her trek she thought now to her newly gained pack, the pride of her origins as a working dog she never dreamed she would lead an entire group of dogs to one constant goal. But what was her goal? She knew her group, her pack, would never lead to destruction and vengeance, nor would it ever be anything spiteful or dangerous besides its own defense. Here was where she knew the Leek pack was something to be known, a gang of drifters who sought out comfort and pride in one another rather than the reigning terror that there was to find in any other ravenous pack. Could she be that? A great leader? She was young, she agreed with that all too well, but with that she knew she had room to maneuver her future, the molding of her pack and her other leads. She would grow wise and grow with strength as her pack grew in numbers and that was something else now that brought her great joy.
Her mind wandering too far she soon realized the touch of the cool water to her paws and stopped, sight averting to the wave gently kissing the gold of her limbs. Lifting the forelimb she rushed back to reality and turned her gaze across the scene around her ensuring she hadn't wandered into danger. No, there was nothing, except...that. What was that? Perhaps a mangled blanket? No. Perhaps a fallen cloud seeking the sea to return to the sky? hmm...she laughed at that thought until she was just close enough to reach the scent. It was a he, a dog, and in that she felt her muscles tense. Shifty eyes traced around her once more gathering her safety before she smiled. This was neutral territory, nothing more, she had little to fear unless he desired a fight in which she would gladly take him up on. Today, it was time to be friendly. Soon she was no more than a few feet from him, and there she took a seat and gazed out over the ocean as he was doing.
Nice day. Perhaps a storm is coming? I hope so, nothing better than a storm...
She chuckled, pinnae scuffling forward as she looked to him a moment then retreated to the seaside view. [/blockquote]

Jasper turned his head to the female. He smiled at her and nodded as he began responding to her in a soft voice.
"I agree. My name is Jasper. What is your name?" he asked her softly. Both ears were pricked upright, and turned toward her to show her respect and attention. His blue orbs were locked on her as he patiently waited.
Below, the ocean crashed against the jagged rocks, spraying mist upward that lightly touched his blue merle pelt. A gentle spring breeze whipped patches of his fur in several directions. His nose burned slightly from the brine but he loved it anyway. It was somehow comforting to him and you could always smell it when a storm was coming. He sighed contentedly and pulled himself up onto all fours. He lowered the front half in a bow and stretched his front forelegs out while his rump was raised in the air. Once he was done, he planted his rump back down on the ground and raised a hind leg. He leaned into it and began kicking at a spot on his shoulder. The kicking caused ridges of his fur to jingle.
Jasper stopped and turned to the female again. He beamed at her.
"So m'dear lady...what brings you up here on a day like this?" He inquired of her brightly, keeping his body posture still friendly and outgoing. He gave her a doggy grin, letting his tongue flap out the corner of his maw. His blue eyes twinkled from the sunlight that was still cascading down from behind a few fluffy white clouds. He could feel the warmth on his back immediately and knew once the winter came, the warm days would vanish. It would be time for cold nights and snow. He shivered in disgust and waited for the female to speak.

His gentle attitude and carefree forgiveness for the world was all too comforting to her, each motion carried by him from that moment on was carefully watched yet not out of caution. She loved to be the same, she loved the comfort of knowing danger was only something to fear if you feared life itself and she certainly didn't. He asked her name, merrily stating his own in the query and slowly she pondered it. Jasper. Did a name such as Jasper really fit a character like him? She always saw Jasper as a name for villains, though not the lead the run and get away with things type...no, like Jasper and Horace, the go to guys to get things done even though they weren't too keen of doing so. She chuckled a little, she knew this Jasper wasn't like that from his immediate attitude, that alone drew her attractions to him all the more. Perhaps a friend would be made the end of this day. Muzzle dipping she shook off the jovial laughter and looked to him, a smile still placed on her face.
I'm Leslie. Nice to meet you Jasper.
Returning her sights to the distance she at once heard what she knew was the first warning to the oncoming storm. Well, to the world it was a warning, to her it was a sound of music to another beat beginning. On the horizon the deep ominous cloud gathering spat the few flashes of lightning to follow up the sky strike's sounds and soon they also echoed out across the beach. The wind began to pilture the landscape and set both their thick coats in motion. She loved the rain, the cool sensation of the tiny tickles along her back eventually soaking her body in the cleanest water to ever touch the earthly plane. He added another question and quickly her attention drew back to him, another smile playing her jaw as his boisterous attitude awakened the merriment she felt inside herself.
Well...I'm just enjoying a day out I guess. The scent of the impending weather change was too much to pass up.
She sighed, watching as the once slow moving cloud formations now shifted and began to head their way. She stood, turning back to him once more.
And you? What brought you out here this way?
She paused, watching and waiting for a response of his own.

Jasper smiled and dipped his head to give her respect. His blue eyes never left hers, a sign that he was taking her seriously and it was just something he was brought up with, making sure that he never broke eye contact with a female.
He began speaking to her softly.
"Same really. I love exploring and always manage to find the most strangest places to explore," he said grinning goodnaturedly. He yawned, his lower jaw flexing downward, salmon pink tongue curling back into his maw. Once the yawn was finished, his jaws snapped shut and he continued.
"I dont really know if I have family alive anymore, so I guess thats the core reason why I explore so much, searching," he shrugged one furry shoulder. "What about you Leslie? Would you care to tell me a bit about yourself?"
If she was uncomfortable talking abotu her past, Jasper would totally understand. He would never intentionally FORCE a female to talk about a painful past. For he knew that some were reluctant to talk in general. So he wouldn't pressure her. Inflicting pain on another canine ,specially a lovely female like her, it wouldn't be right.
"You dont have to tell me if you dont want to," he said quickly showing her that he wasn't a bastard like the other males that she might've met in her travels. Jasper didn't move a muscle, to get closer to her for fear that she might not like it. He knew invading personal space was not a good thing really and never did it unless the female offered for him to come closer. Jasper sat patiently and waited for Leslie to talk again. His nose twitched as he waited.

His utter respect for her drew more respect for him in turn from herself, she liked others who knew moral code and whatnot. Smiling she simply engaged in chat with another canine, that alone was something good to her. When he spoke of his past she shuddered just slightly, for she always wondered of those who knew little of their family and saw them as pitiful souls...yet he wasn't that to her, something rose in her telling her that perhaps the absence of family created something better than a family being around would have. He queried her own past, her own information and of course responded to his own question with a statement which she only chuckled at. Her past, herself, she wasn't really that demanded of the same distorted past and even more disoriented life. The first raindrop settled square on her muzzle just as she began to speak.
Oh, no worries...my family is living it up with humans far off from here. They're herders, so they'll live good lives. As for myself, well, I'm pretty much the usual. Just took on a pack of my own, guess I was meant to be leader material. I just hope I can hold up a good position of us all for a long time from now.
She smiled wider now, and the rain poured a little harder, the gusto growing from its pattering sound soothing to her and ever more insightful to the continuation of the world even though everything seemed to freeze in her own mind.

Jasper smiled at her and nodded as he listened to her speaking. He cocked her head to the side and suddenly had a bright idea.
"Would you like to take a walk with me, Miss Leslie?" he asked in a polite tone as he pulled himself up onto all fours. He took a few steps toward the direction before stopping and craning his head around to look at her over his shoulder. His lower jaw dropped again, pink tongue resting over the side of his back molars out the corner of his maw. Both ears were pricked upright, gently flapping against his head from the motion of panting.
"I know a great place to roam," he said brightly and felt a cool breeze blowing over his back, ruffling a few patches of his blue merle fur. His blue eyes were locked on hers, waiting patiently for her to speak. The bottom of his pads briefly burned and he lowered his eyes to glance down.
The sun was reflected over the ground and it was hot. He shifted a bit so that his paws were no more standing directly on top of the heat of the sun. His nose twitched, picking up the scents around them. The air smelled of a slight brine scent, which meant there was a storm coming possibly. As Jasper raised his eyes to the sky, the dark storm clouds began slowly rolling in. He lowered his eyes to hers again.
"Looks like a storm. Thankfully the area I have in mind is indoors," he gave her a lopsided grin. He blinked and looked around. The streets were quiet now, which wasn't abnormal. It still gave him the heebie jeebies and he cleared his throat, forcing all the wild ideas to stop swimming around.
