The suns reach was stretching to pull its-self farther into the sky as the moon gracefully bowed out. The stars winked out of existence for another span of time. My paws carried me to the rising sun on the horizon spread out before me. The overgrown crop field surrounded me but I paid it no mind. A grayed shape stood closer to me in the shape of a barn and just beyond it was a farm house. It caught my attention and held it longer than most things did these days pulling me in. So I followed the pull thinking perhaps, just perhaps this time I would find something to help my one true illness, boredom. I was weary of the ever long hours spent searching for that something to spark life into me.
A creak brought me short when I was paces from the massive barn. My head came up and I turned my folded ears in the direction of the ajar door of the faded barn. I caught the sound of something scurrying inside. My head lowered as instinct took control for this moment and like the ghost my coloring marked me I crept closer my paws silent upon the ground as each step was taken with careful measure. My nose peeked into the barn around the door tasting the air inside. I found it practically stale and smelling of old hay wood, and bird. I slipped in through the door stepping on the old musty hay. I cast my ghostly yellow eyes over the interior. Stalls tack and other barn things meet my eyes.
Once more my ears picked up movement and I turned my head in the direction to see a furry tail slipped under a wooden plank out the barn. I sneezed disappointed with my findings of nothing. But while I was in here I guessed I would look around. Not like I had anything better to do. My legs carried me to the nearest stall and I peered in the simple box and moved on inspecting each new thing I came across. I paused the sniff a fallen saddle before I stopped and looked around me again in the center of the barn. I huffed and lowered my body to the ground on a clear space laying my head upon my paws. Casting my mind for an idea of what to do next. I was yet again bored. My haunch seemed to be wrong yet again. What a pity. Then I heard something and lifted my head with a small growl that escaped me. I stared at the door where a slant of morning light filtered in stronger than other slits that found their way in the dim barn.
